Questions about split pdf
How do I write the page ranges?
Ranges and single pages separated by commas: 1-3, 7, 12-. Leaving the end off a range means “to the last page”. Pages outside the document are ignored rather than causing an error.
Will the text stay selectable?
Yes. The selected pages are copied into a new document with their fonts and images intact — they are not turned into flat pictures, so text remains selectable and searchable.
Can it open a password-protected PDF?
Only if the password protects printing or editing rather than opening. A PDF that needs a password to open cannot be read without it.
Is my file uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — the file is read from your device, processed there, and never sent anywhere. You can confirm it by disconnecting from the network after the page loads; the tool still works.
Is there a file size limit?
100MB. The limit is your device's memory rather than a policy: beyond that the browser tab tends to run out of memory rather than simply being slow.
Do I need an account?
No. Signing in only adds a library, so your results are still there when you come back.
Something wrong with this tool?
If it gave you the wrong answer or would not do what you needed, we would rather hear about it than not.
