Apple has officially unveiled the Vision Pro 2, addressing the primary complaints of the original device. The new headset weighs 40% less, completely eliminates the external battery pack in favor of an internal hot-swappable battery system, and debuts at a much more aggressive price point of $1,999.
The Vision Pro 2 utilizes next-generation micro-OLED displays that offer true retina resolution, eliminating the 'screen door effect' entirely. Furthermore, the external 'EyeSight' display has been significantly upgraded to look more natural, making interactions with people in the same room feel less isolating.
Apple also announced deeper integration with the Mac ecosystem. Users can now project multiple virtual displays from their Mac with zero latency, effectively turning the Vision Pro 2 into the ultimate portable workstation. Pre-orders begin next week, and analysts predict strong sales among creative professionals and early adopters.
